ALAMOSA – The Colorado High School Activities Association released the volleyball regional tournament brackets on Monday with seven SLV teams earning postseason berths.

The brackets are posted on the CHSAANow.com web site.

Both of the local Class 3A teams advanced to regional tournaments and both will be host teams.

Top-seeded Alamosa (22-1) will host the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament and will host 36^th-seeded DSST: College View (12-11) and 16^th-seeded Salida (15-8) on Friday. The Mean Moose will play DSST first at 2 p.m., with the Wolves and Spartans playing after that. Alamosa and Salida will wrap up the tournament.

Centauri (15-8) is the 10^th seed and will host the Class 3A Region 10 Tournament with 27^th-seedced Brush (10-13) and 15^th-seeded Coal Ridge (17-6) on Friday. The Falcons will open the tournament against Brush at 2 p.m., with the Beetdiggers and Titans playing afterwards. Centauri will play Coal Ridge in the final match of the tournament.

In Class 2A, Sanford will hot a regional, while Center, Del Norte and Monte Vista will be on the road.

Sixth-seeded Sanford (18-3) will host 31^st-seeded Haxtun (8-15) and 19^th-seeded Highland (16-7) in the Class 2A Region 6 Tournament on Saturday. The Mustangs will first play Haxtun at 10 a.m., with the Fightin’ Bulldogs and Huskies playing in the second match. Sanford and Highland will play in the final match.

Center (12-10) is the 36^th seed and it will play in the Class 2A Region 1 Tournament at Simla on Friday. The Vikings will play to-seeded Simla (21-2) at 1 p.m., and 24^th-seeded Dayspring Christian Academy (12-10) in the following match. The Cubs and Eagles play in the final match.

Monte Vista (12-9) is the 23^rd seed and will travel to Denver Christian for the Class 2A Region 2 Tournament on Saturday. The Pirates will face the host team, second-seeded Denver Christian (19-4) at 10 a.m., and will face Loveland Classical (12-11) in the second match. The Thunder and Lions will wrap up the tournament.

Del Norte (9-12) enters as the 30^th seed and will travel to Swink for the Class 2A Region 7 Tournament on Saturday. The Tigers will play the host team, seventh-seeded Swink (19-4) at 10 a.m., and it will take on 18^th-seeded Heritage Christian (17-6) in the following match. The Lions and Eagles will finish the tournament.

In Class 1A, Sargent (21-2) will host a single match against Lone Star (14-9) on Saturday. The Farmers and Longhorns play at 10 a.m.

The winner of each region will advance to their respective state tournaments at the Denver Coliseum on Nov. 13-15.
