ALAMOSA – Because of Wednesday’s snowstorm, two regional volleyball tournaments scheduled for Friday have been postponed.
The Class 3A Region 4 volleyball tournament, hosted by Alamosa High School, has been postponed to Sunday.
The first match of the tournament between Alamosa and DSST: Conservatory Green will begin at 10 a.m. The second match between DSST: Conservatory Green and Valley will start at approximately 11:30 a.m., and the final match between Alamosa and Valley will be at approximately 1 p.m.
The Class 2A Region 9 Tournament in Meeker has been moved to Monday. The first match between Limon and Meeker will begin at 11 a.m., followed by Sanford playing Limon at approximately 12:30 p.m. The final match between Sanford and Meeker will be at approximately 2 p.m.
It is undetermined whether the storm affected any of the other volleyball tournaments scheduled for Saturday.
The winner of the regionals will advance to their respective state tournaments which will take place Nov. 14-16 at the Denver Coliseum.
Sierra Grande football game rescheduled
The Sierra Grande High School football game on Saturday has had a time change.
The game, originally scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. will now begin at 4 p.m.
Gymnastics tentatively still on schedule
The Class 5A gymnastics team tournament was still on schedule to begin Thursday. The Colorado High School Activities Association will continue to monitor the weather and will adjust Friday’s and Saturday’s schedule, as needed.
