ALAMOSA – The latest MaxPreps track and field ra ankings are now available as of competiion on April 25.

The Top 18 in each event in Classes 5A, 4A, 3A and 2A will qualify for their respective state meets. In Class 1A, the Top 9 in sprints and hurdles, the Top 12 in distances, and the Top 10 in field events qualify for the state meet.

The state meet takes place May 14-16 at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood.

Class 3A

Alamosa

The Mean Moose have four boys in the rankings and are led by Ethan Merrick who is fourth in the 3,200-meter run in 9:40.84 and sixth in the 1,600 in 4:30.51.

Also ranked are Adlai Gardner who is ninth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 41.73 seconds and 15th in the 400 meters in 50.82, Jeremiah DeLaCerda who is 17th in the 3,200 in 10:13.82, and Timone Dolan who is 17th in the 400 in 51.00.

The Mean Moose are also ranked in two relays. They are ninth in the 4x800 in 8:33.81, and 15th in the 4x400 in 3:34.43.

Eight Alamosa girls are ranked and are led by Timay Garcia who has the best height in the pole vault at10-2.

Other ranked Alamosa girls include Brandi Garrison who is tied for second in the discus at 117-7, Sylvia Daugherty who is fifth in the 400 in 59.41, Kailynn King who is ninth in the 400 in 59.91 and 13th in the 200 in 26.58, Braelyn Martinez who is tied for 11th in the pole vault at 8-2, Brooklyn Boehm who is 12th in the shot put at 32-8 and 16th in the discus at 103-10, Leela Gutierrez who is tied for15th in the pole vault at 7-9, and Daelyn Jackson who is tied for 15th in the high jump at 5-0.

The Alamosa girls are 10th in the 4x800 relay in 10:30.61.

Centauri

The Falcons have three ranked boys. Dallyn King is ranked in three events including seventh in the 400 in 49.47, 11th in the 200 in 22.72 and 12th in the 100 in 11.20.

Other ranked Centauri boys include Blake Johnson who is ninth in the shot put at 45-2, and Ben Norton who is 14th in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.42 and 16th in the 300 hurdles in 42.67.

The Centauri girls have four ranked individuals. Alyvia Norton is tied for second in the high jump at 5-3, Analyn Dwyer is tied for 10th in the same event at 5-1, Brooklyn Shawcroft is tied for 15th in the pole vault at 7-9, and Sydney Haslett is tied for 17th in the high jump at 4-11.

The Falcons are seventh in the 4x800 girls relay in 10:22.87.

Class 2A

Center

Center has no ranked individuals at this time. The only ranked Vikings are the girls 4x200 relay which is 14th in 1:52.90.

Del Norte

The Tigers have five ranked individual boys and  are led by Damon Ledford-Vigil who has the best height in the polevault in a Class 2A state record of 15-3. He is also tied for 11th in the high jump at 5-11 and 16th in the 400 in 52.48.

Also ranked for the Del Norte boys are Corbin Horrocks who is 13th in the pole vault at 11-3, Brendan Hemmerling who is 15th in the 200 in 23.38, Mads Kreutzer who is 16th in the 3,200 in 10:31.11 and 18th in the 1,600 in 4:46.43, and Cruz Matta who is 17th in the 800 in 2:05.06.

The Tigers are ranked in three boys relays. They are sixth in the 4x800 in 8:39.36, eighth in the 4x400 in 3:38.67, and 14th in the 4x200 in 1:35.87.

The Del Norte girls have four ranked individuals. Madeline Mitchell is fourth in the pole vault at 9-3, Scarlett Maxwell is 11th in the 3,200 in 12:04.00, Taylor Off is tied for 11th in the high jump at 4-10, and Haedyn Graham who is 16th in the discus at 96-1.

The Tigers are 11th in the girls 4x800 in 10:46.73.

Monte Vista

The Monte Vista boys have two in the rankings. John Jake Naranjo is 15th in the discus at 125-8, and Ezaiah Archuleta is 18th in the 110 hurdles in 18.50.

The Pirates are 16th in the 4x200 in 1:36.02 and 17th in the 4x100 in 46.05.

The Pirates girls have one ranked individual, but she is ranked in four events. Shae Romero has the best time in the 400 in 58.37 and she is second in the 800 in  2:21.27, seventh in the 200 in 26.44 and 18th, in the 1,600 in 5:35.16.

Monte Vista is seventh in the girls 4x200 in 1:51.38.

Sanford

The Mustangs have one athletes in the rankings at Blake Miller is 16th, in the 300 hurdles in 44.72.

Class 1A

Antonito

The Trojans currently have no ranked athletes.

Centennial

The Rams also have no athletes in the rankings.

Creede

The Miners have only one ranked individual in Charlie Heinrich who is sixth in the 300 hurdles in 43.83.

Moffat

The Cowboys have two athletes in the rankings.

For the boys, Javad Taylor is fourth in the 100 in 11.57. The girls have Kandra Pollard who is tied for ninth in the long jump at 15-7.

Sangre de Cristo

The Thunderbirds have one athlete in the rankings in Brody Artaechevarria who is 11th in the 800 in 2:10.26.

Sierra Grande

The Panthers have one ranked individual in Rolando Najera who is seventh in the lomg jump at 20-1 ¼ and seventh in the triple jump at 39-5.

Sierra Grande is fourth in the boys 4x100 in 45.90.
