CENTER – The Center High School track and field program hosted the Triple D Meet Tuesday at the Vikings’ field.
Alamosa
The Mean Moose boys won one meet championship as Jayce Johnson took the 800-meter run in 2:15.93. He also tied for sixth in the triple jump at 34-0 ½.
Also placing for the Alamosa boys were Timone Dolan who was second in the 400-meter dash in 53.10 seconds, Alexander Diego-Pablo who tied for third in the 100 in 12.08 and as seventh in the 200 in 26.11, Andy Hernandez who was third in the 800 in 2:24.00, Teddy Matson who was fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 19.07 and fifth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 48.93, Braydon Sieczkowski who was fourth in the high jump at 5-4, Gabriel Mora who was sixth in the 200 in 25.62, and Alejandro Aragon who was eighth in the 200 in 26.17.
The Mean Moose also won two boys relays. They won the 4x200 in 1:35.20 and the 4x400 in 3:37.04.
The Alamosa girls had two champions in Timay Garcia who won the pole vault at10-3, and Daelyn Jackson who won the 300 hurdles in 51.27.
Other Alamosa girl placers included Brooklyn Boehm who was second in the shot put at 32-0 ½ and sixth in the discus at 98-0, Sylvia Daugherty who was second in the 200 in 28.58, Brandi Garrison who was second in the discus at 104-11, Amelia Martinez who was third in the pole vault at 8-4, Bella Hoover who was fourth in the 200 in 29.35, Braelyn Martinez who was fourth in the 100 hurdles in 20.90 and tied for fourth in the pole vault at 7-10, Catherine Nolasco who was fourth in the 1,600 in 7:07.26, A’Jordanae Lewis who was fifth in the 400 in 1:06.35, and Alicia Gonzalez who was sixth in the long jump at 14-5 ¼.
Alamosa also took second in the girls 4x200 relay in 1:50.62.
Antonito
The Trojans had no placers from either team.
Centauri
The Falcon boys won four events and were led by Ben Norton who took first in the 110 hurdles in 16.79 and the 300 hurdles in 44.92. Also winning events were Caden Ruggles who took the 100 in 11.65, and Lincoln Bagwell who won the 3,200 in 11:09.02. Bagwell was also seventh in the 400 in 56.27.
Other Centauri placers on the boys side were Cole Jackson who was second in the 110 hurdles in 17.47 and eighth in the 400 in 56.48, Blake Johnson who was third in the shot put at 45-6, Gavin Graber who was third in the 1,600 in 5:47.75 and sixth in the 800 in 2:38.10, Austin Norton who was third in the 110 hurdles in 18.64 and fourth in the 300 hurdles in 48.07, Diego Cortez who was fourth in the discus at 130-7 and tied for sixth in the shot put at 40-8, Durant Gilleland who was fourth in the long jump at 17-8, Joey Torres who was fifth in the 1,600 in 5:56.25, Sean Jarvies who was sixth in the 400 in 56.06, Dorian Quintana who was seventh in the discus at 118-6, and Sage Harmsen who was seventh in the 110 hurdles in 22.24.
The Falcons also won the 4x100 in 44.95.
Centauri won the girls meet despite having no individual champions. Leading the Falcons were Gensei Morris who was second in the 800 in 2:50.29 and seventh in the triple jump at 27-10 ¾, Alyvia Norton who was second in the high jump at 5-0, Bailey Graber who was third in the 400 in 1:05.52, Analyn Dwyer who was third in the high jump at 4-10, fourth in the long jump at 15-0 and sixth in the 400 in 1:08.11, Macey McCarroll who was fourth in the 400 in 1:05.52, Brooklyn Shawcroft who was fourth in the 800 in 2:58.88, tied for fourth in the pole vault at 7-10, and fifth in the triple jump at 28-4, Lyndie Sowards who was fourth in the triple jump at 29-1 and eighth in the long jump at 14-4 ¾, Rylie McCarroll who was fifth in the shot put at 28-0 ½, eighth in the high jump at 4-4 and eighth in the discus at 93-6, Braelyn Shawcroft who was fifth in the 100 hurdles in 21.75, Kortney Johnson who was. sixth in the 100 hurdles in 22.66, Paityn Sowards who was sixth in the 100 in 14.08, Jeana Dunn who was seventh in the 1,600 in 7:33.65, Sydney Haslett who was seventh in the 200 in 30.74 and seventh in the high jump at 4-6, Sienna Taylor who was seventh in the 800 in 3:09.54 and eighth in the triple jump at 27-3 ½, and Malia Huff who wax eighth in the pole vault at 6-4.
The Falcons also won the girls 4x400 in 4:22.51 and were sixth in the 4x100 in 59.16.
Center
The Center boys had seven athletes place. The list includes Anjel Palma who was second in the triple jump at 39-4, Yanixan Padilla who was third in the long jump at 17-10 ¾, Frankie Garcia who was sixth in the 100 in 12.34, Michael Archuleta who was eighth in the 100 in 12.44, Jairo Lino who was eighth in the 1,600 in 6:39.18, Dominick Ramirez who was eighth in the long jump at 16-7 ½, and Jose Tomas-Lopez who was eighth in the discus at 114-4.
The Vikings also placed in three relays. They were fourth in the 4x200 in 1:44.23, fourth in the 4x800 in 10:44.25, and fifth in the 4x100 in 49.26.
The Center girls had one champion in Maya Swanson who won the triple jump at 30-11. Other Viking placers included Oceana Garcia who was second in the 100 in 13.37, Jaylah Martinez who was third in the 800 in 2:58.32, Landry Neufeld who was third in the 100 hurdles in 18.80, Emiliana Valdez who was fourth in the shot put at 28-11 and fifth in the discus at 98-2, Becklynn Bogner who was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 54.56, Alyciana Lujan who was fifth in the 200 in 30.26 and seventh in the 100 in 14.20, Nayeli Pablo who was fifth in the 1,600 in 7:08.35 and eighth in the 800 in 3:11.54, and Sofia Valdez who was fifth in the shot put at 28-9 ¼.
The Center girls placed in two relays. They were second d in the 4x100 in 55.86, and third in the 4x200 in 1:52.39.
Creede
The Miners had one boy and two girls who placed.
For the boys team, Charlie Heinrich was second in the 300 hurdles in 45.19 and fifth in the 100 in 12.17.
For the girls, Ava Mankowski was second in the 300 hurdles in 51.59 and third in the shot put at 29-3, and Paisley Anderson tied for fourth in the high jump at 4-8 and was seventh in the shot put at 27-9 ½.
Del Norte
The Del Norte boys won three events. Zach Daniel won the 1,600 in 5:34.55 and was also second in the 800 in 2:22.31 and tied for eighth in the high jump at 4-8. Brendan Hemmerling won the 200 in 24.50 and was third in the triple jump at 37-4. Damon Ledford-Vigil won the pole vault at 13-6 and also took third in the high jump at 5-6.
Also placing for the Tigers were Landon Crowder who was second in the 1,600 in 5:47.37, Corbin Horrocks who was second in the pole vault at 11-4, Kife Mashburn who was third in the pole vault at 10-10, Jose Pinon who was fourth in the pole vault at 9-4, fifth in the 800 in 2:36.21 and seventh in the 300 hurdles in 51.40, Calvin Quintana who was fourth in the shot put at 43-3 ½ and sixth in the discus at 119-11, Liam Griffin who was fifth in the pole vault at 7-10, Justin Ast who was sixth in the 1,600 in 6:18.73, Paxton Rister who tied for sixth in the high jump at 5-0, and Micah Stephens who tied for eighth in the high jump at 4-8.
The Del Norte boys were second in two relays including the 4x200 in 1:37.84, and the 4x800 in 8:47.73.
The Del Norte girls had eight placers. The list includes Brianna Kaufman Brigham who was second in the 1,600 in 6:44.83 and fifth in the 800 in 3:06.06, Madeline Mitchell who was second in the pole vault at 8-10, Ella Cowett who was third in the 1,600 in 6:44.84 and sixth in the 800 in 3:06.85, Emma Parra who was third in the triple jump at 29-6, Indie Howe who was fourth in the 300 hurdles in 53.97 and seventh in the pole vault at 6-10, Taylor Off who tied for fourth in the high jump at 4-8, Makenzie Consaul who was sixth in the pole vault at 7-4, and Haedyn Graham who was seventh in the discus at 97-8.
Del Norte also placed in al four girls relays. They won the 4x800 in 10:56.49 and were second in the 4x400 in 4:32.11, fourth in the 4x100 in 58.67, and fourth in the 4x200 in 1:53.48.
Moffat
The Moffat boys had seven place winners. They were led by Cashel Johnson who won the discus at 155-0 and also took eighth in the shot put at 37-9 ¼. Also placing for the Cowboys were Javad Taylor who was second in the 100 in 11.71 and fourth in the 200 in 25.52, Chase Shellabarger who was fifth in the shot put at 41-0, Shotaro Siago who was fifth in the 110 hurdles in 20.02, Ezekiel Fontenot who was sixth in the long jump at 16-9 ¾, Tanner Shellabarger who tied for sixth in the high jump at 5-0, and Diego Fries who was seventh in the 100 in 12.37.
The Moffat boys also took sixth in the 4x100 in 49.39.
The Moffat girls had three placers. Kandra Pollard was third in the 100 in 13.62, third in the 200 and 29.34 third in the long jump at 15-11, Shauna Pollard was seventh in the 400 in 1:09.49, and Bella Cohen was eighth in the 100 in 14.24 and eighth in the 400 in 1:10.48.
Moffat also took third in the girls 4x400 in 4:51.12.
Monte Vista
Monte Vista had only four individual placers – one boy and three girls.
For the Pirates boys, Haven Heredia was sixth in the 300 hurdles in 50.30.
They also took second in the boys 4x100 in 46.75.
For the Monte Vista girls, Olyvia Wofford was second in the 100 hurdles in 17.77, Reminee Mascarenas was fifth in the 100 in 13.89, and Elena Baumgardner was sixth in the triple jump at 28-0 ½.
Sanford
The Sanford boys were led by Kaulen Miller who was second in the high jump at 5-10. Also placing for the Mustangs were Huntley Duran who tied for third in the 100 in 12.06 and was third in the 200 in 24.79, Blake Miller was third in the 300 hurdles in 47.68 and fifth in the triple jump at 34-3, Clay Willet who was fourth in the triple jump at 35-1, Jono Peterson who was fourth in the 1,600 in 5:54.80 and eighth in the 800 in 2:43.13, Kaden Cary who was fifth in the 200 in 25.54, Jayden Fairhurst who was fifth in the high jump at 5-2 and sixth in the 110 hurdles in 21.40, and Ryan McCarroll who was eighth in the 110 hurdles in 22.98.
The Sanford boys also placed in three relays. They were second in the 4x400 in 4:21.46, third in the 4x200 in 1:40.86, and fourth in the 4x100 in 48.47.
The Sanford girls had five placers including Kasey Gyllimg who was fourth in the 100 in 13.55, Pepper Larson who was sixth in the 200 in 30.46, Natalya Madril who was sixth in the 1,600 in 7:30.73, Claire Crowther who was eighth in the shot put at 27-2 ½, and Bella Peterson who was eighth in the 200 in 30.94.
The Sanford girls placed in three relays. They were third in the 4x100 in 57.16, fifth in the 4x200 in 1:57.93 and fourth in the 4x400 in 5:49.53.
Sangre de Cristo
Sangre de Cristo had three placers – two boys and one girl.
For the Thunderbird boys, Brody Artaechevarria was fifth in the 400 in 56.00, and Joe Brown was fifth in the discus at 122-3.
For the Sangre girls, Taylor Freel was fourth in the discus at 99-6.
Sierra Grande
The Sierra Grande boys were led by Rolando Najera who won the triple jump at 40-11 ¾ and was second d in the long jump at 19-8 ½. Also placing for the Panthers were Daylan Santillano who was fifth in the long jump at 17-0, Aden Gallegos who tied for sixth in the triple jump at 34-0 ½, and Daniel Rodriguez who was seventh in the 1,600 in 6:34.03.
Sierra Grande also placed in two relays including third in the 4x100 in 47.32 and fifth in the 4x200 in 1:49.61.
Eneria Quintana was the only Sierra Grande girl to place as she was second d in the triple jump at 30-7 ½ and seventh in the long jump at 14-5.
The Panther girls were fifth in the 4x100 in 58-85.
State is next
The CHSAA state track and field meet will take place next Thursday through Saturday at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood.
