Class 2A girls golf state tourney wrap-up

ALAMOSA – The Class 2A girls golf state tournament took place on Monday and Tuesday at the Pueblo Country Club.

Three golfers from the San Luis Valley participated in the tournament.

Class 2A girls golf state tourney wrap-up

ALAMOSA – The Class 2A girls golf state tournament took place on Monday and Tuesday at the Pueblo Country Club.

Three golfers from the San Luis Valley participated in the tournament.

Alamosa High School’s Taybor Wiedeman placed the highest of the SLV Golfers. After tying for 39th place with a 104 on Monday, she recorded a 106 on Tuesday to finish tied for 48th place with a 210.

Also for the Lady Mean Moose, Kiara Gallegos tied for 51st on Monday with a 107. She shot a 128 on Tuesday to finish 70th with a 235.

Monte Vista’s Reagan Futrell tied for 62nd on Monday with a 111. But she took 11 strokes off that total on Tuesday to record a 100 for the round and a 211 final for a tie for 51st place.

Colorado Academy won the state championship with a two-day score of 507. Salida was second with 525 and Denver Christian was third with 538.

Colorado Academy’s Sophia Lee was the medalist with 146, which is two over par.
