DEL NORTE – The Centauri High School boys and girls track and field teams both won at the Del Norte Invitational Thursday at the DNHS field.
It was also the Southern Peaks League Championship meet with Del Norte winning the boys title, and Sanford the girls.
Alamosa
The Alamosa boys finished in fourth place overall with 51 points and were led by Danny Lopez who won the 800-meter run in 2:12.40. Also placing high for the Mean Moose were Timone Dolan who was second in the 400 in 53.93, Adlai Gardner who was third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 44.35 seconds, and Landon Garcia who was fourth in the discus at 103-5.
Alamosa also won the 4x100-meter relay in 44.95.
The Lady Mean Moose finished second overall with 121 ½ points. They had two individual champions in Lily Heersink who won the 100-meter high hurdles in 17.76, and Daelyn Jackson who won the 300 hurdles in 54.70.
Placing second were Brooklyn Boehm in the shot put at 29-2, Brandi Garrison in the discus at 100-0, Alicia Gonzalez in the long jump at 14-5, A’Jordanae Lewis in the 400 in 1:04.45, and Isabella Lopez in the 800 in 2:47.03.
Two Alamosa girls took third in Sylvia Daugherty in the 400 in 1:04.95 and Jackson in the high jump at 4-7.
The Lady Mean Moose won the in 4x100 in 52.17.
Antonito
The Antonito boys placed 14th with seven points. Its highest placer was Everett Holloway who was third in the 3,200 in 12:36.02.
The Lady Trojans were 14th with six points.
Centauri
The Falcons boys team scored 172 points and was led by Troy Sowards who won the high jump with a personal best height of 6-11.
Also winning championships were Diego Cortez in the discus at 118-0, Blake Johnson in the shot put at 42-1, and Ben Norton in the 110 hurdles in 16.73 and the 300 hurdles in 42.38.
Placing second were Carson Bagwell in the triple jump at 38-7, Lincoln Bagwell in the 1,600 in 5:07.45, Gavin Graber in the 3,200 in 12:15.70, Spencer smith in the shot put at 39-10, and Cole Jackson in the 110 hurdles in 19.24. Jackson was also fourth in the 300 hurdles in 46.27 and fourth in the triple jump at 38-2.
Falcons who finished third include Konner Horton in the 110 hurdles in 19.75, Donovan Jarvies in the high jump at 4-9, and Dorian Quintana in the discus at 108-3.
Tyrel Hostetter was fourth in the 400 in 54.72.
Centauri also won the 4x200 in 1:33.34 and was second in the 4x100 in 45.35.
The Centauri girls scored 153 ½ points and had five champions. Bailey Graber won the 1,600, in 5:46.22, Paityn Sowards won the triple jump at 32-1 ½, McKenzie Torres won the 800 in 2:28.16, and Analynn Dwyer and Alyvia Norton tied for first in the high jump at 4-9. Dwyer was also in the 200 in 29.3.
Also placing for the Lady Falcons were Jocelyn Jarvies who was second in the triple jump at 30-7 ½, Macey McCarroll who tied for third in the 400 in 1:04.95 and was third in the long jump at 14-0, Rylie McCarroll who was third in the shot put at 28-10, Harper Russell who was third in the 100 hurdles in 18.42, Mikasa Gilleland who was fourth in the long jump at 13-11, Sidney Haslett who was fourth in the shot put at 27-2, and Brooklyn Shawcroft who was fourth in the triple jump at 30-1.
The Lady Falcons also won the 4x800 in 12:18.29 and the 4x400 in 4:27.39. They were second in the 4x200 in 1:54.02.
Center
The Center boys were sixth with 49 points and the Vikings were led by Andree Meraz who was second in the discus at 115-8, Caden Ruggles who was second in the 300 hurdles in 43.62 and third in the long jump at 18-10 ½, and Anjel Palma who was third in the triple jump at 38-3 ½.
The Vikings also won the 4x400 in 3:45.40.
The Lady Vikings finished fourth with 51 points. They were led by Presley Wilson who won both the shot put at 32-9 and the discus at 101-8. Gizelle Meraz was third in the discus at 95-8.
Creede
The Creede Boys were 11th with 15 ½ points. Its highest placer was Charlie Heinrich who was fourth in the 110 hurdles in 19.82.
The Lady Miners were 11th with nine points. Ava Mankowski was third in the 300 hurdles in 56.92.
Del Norte
The Tigers scored 104 ½ points and had four championships. Mads Kreutzer won the 3,200 in 11:00.43 and the 1,600 in 5:01.79, Damon Ledford-Vigil won the pole vault at 11-9, and Caleb Cowett won the 400 in 53.02. Cowett was also third in the 800 in 2:16.39.
Placing third were Corbin Horrocks in the pole vault at 10-3 and Cruz Matta in the 1,600 in 5:18.23. Taking fourth place were Yalan Carrillo in the 800 in 2:21.14, Landon Crowder in the 3,200 in 12:49.53, and Jaxtin Lester in the 1,600 in 5:20.80.
The Tigers were second in the 4x400 in 3:56.52 and third in the 4x200 in 1:36.52.
The Lady Tigers were fifth with 49 points. They were led by Frannie Edelen who was second in the 1,600 in 5:52.72 and fourth in the 800 in 2:47.46, Baylie Laymon who was second in the pole vault at 8-3 and fourth in the 100 hurdles in 18.79, and Madeline Mitchell who was third in the pole vault at 6-9 and fourth in the 1,600 in 6:43.26.
The Del Norte girls were fourth in the 4x200 in 1:59.10.
Moffat
The Cowboys were 14th with seven points. Their highest placer was Ezekiel Fontenot who was fourth in the shot put at 37-10.
The Moffat girls tied for 12th with seven points.
Monte Vista
The Pirates placed ninth with 27 points and were led by Kelby Mondragon who was fourth in the long jump at 18-8.
Monte Vista was second in the 4x100 in 54.97, third in the 4x400 in 3:57.79, and fourth in the 4x100 in 46.73.
The Lady Pirates were sixth with 32 points. Lola Mott was fourth in the 300 hurdles in 1:00.67.
The Lady Pirates were third in the 4x200 in 1:56.01 and fourth in the 4x200 in 1:37.09.
Sanford
The Sanford boys placed fifth with 50 ½ points and were led by Caden Cary who was third in the 200 in 24.51, and Bryce Keck who was third in the shot put at 39-0.
The Mustangs were also second in the 4x200 in 1:36.15 and third in the 4x100 in 46.29.
The Lady Mustangs scored 80 points. Leading the was were Erica Miller who won the 400 in 1:01.37 and the 200 in 28.01, Zaidah Najera who won the 3,200 in 17:22.96, and Bella Peterson who was second in the 200 in 29.15.
The Sanford girls won the 4x200 in 1:53.36 and took second in the 4x400 in 5:04.64 and third in the 4x100 in 56.51.
Sangre de Cristo
The Thunderbirds were seventh with 38 pints and were led by Brody Artaechevarria who was second in the 800 in 2:12.95.
They also placed fourth in the 4x400 in 4:00.25.
The Lady Thunderbirds tied for 12th with seven points. They were led by Taylor Freel who was fourth in the discus at 92-0.
Sierra Grande
The Panthers took eighth place with 29 ½ points and were led by Jadyn Martinez who was second in the long jump at 19-9, and Rolando Najera who was fourth in the 200 in 25.12.
The Lady Panthers finished ninth with 15 points and were led by Eneria Quintana who won the long jump at 14-11 ½.
