22 SLV track athletes named All-State by CHSAA

ALAMOSA – The Colorado High School activities Association released its 2026 All-State track and field teams on Wednesday with 22 competitors from the San Luis Valley being recognized.

Class 3A

Alamosa

The Mean Moose had four All-State athletes – one boy and two girls.

For the boys team, sophomore Ethan Merrick was named to the first team after a third-place finish in the 3,200-meter run.

The Alamosa girls had two second team selections and one honorable mention. Junior Timay Garcia earned the honor in the pole vault, sophomore Brandi Garrison was second team in the discus, and junior Brooklyn Boehm earned honorable mention in the discus and shot put.

Centauri

The Falcons had five athletes named All-State.

The boys team had two selections in junior Blake Johnson, who was named first team after a third-place finish in the shot put, and junior Dallyn King, who was honorable mention in the 200- and 400-meter dashes.

For the Centauri girls, both junior Analyn Dwyer and senior Alyvia Norton were second team in the high jump. Senior Brooklyn Shwcroft was honorable mention in the pole vault.

Class 2A

Del Norte

The Tigers had two All-State athletes. Senior Damon Ledford-Vigil won first team honors after winning the pole vault, and junior Mads Kreutzer was second team after placing fifth in the 3,200 meters.

Monte Vista

The Pirates had one selection in freshman Shae Romero, who earned first team honors in the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run.

Sanford

The Mustangs also had one All-State athlete in junior Kaulen Miller who was honorable mention in the high jump.

Class 1A

Creede

The Miners had two selections. Senior Charlie Heinrich was honorable mention in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, and sophomore Ava Mankowski earned honorable mention in the 300 hurdles for the girls.

Moffat

The Cowboys had four All-State selections with three on the boys team. Freshman Cashel Johnson was first team in the discus, sophomore Javad Taylor was second team in the 100-meter dash, and junior Chase Shellabarger was honorable mention in the shot put.

For the Moffat girls, sophomore Kandra Pollard was honorable mention in the long jump.

Sangre de Cristo

The Thunderbirds had two selections. For the boys, junior Brody Artaechevarria was honorable mention in the 400 meters, and senior Taylor Freel was honorable mention in the discus.

Sierra Grande

The Panthers had one selection in senior Rolando Najera who was second team in the triple jump.
