CREEDE- The 38th annual Taste of Creede is set for the weekend of May 23 and 24, with a schedule sure to bring a smile to the face of anyone who ventures up to start the 2026 summer season in style.

The featured artist of the 2026 Taste of Creede is Jesse Crock, a Golden-based artist.  Crock is an elementary school art teacher whose love for the Colorado outdoors and enthusiasm for teaching shine through in his vibrant acrylics and landscape subjects.

Crock will be hosted by the Creede Center for the Arts and the Quiller Gallery, teaching a Creative Painting class for 7-15 year olds on Saturday morning, May 23, as well as joining the Taste of Creede Plein Air painting on Main Street, and the Quick Draw and Art Auction at the Creede Hotel and Restaurant on Sunday. May 24.  For more information about Crock's class, check out https://creedecenterforthearts.org/education-programming

The Annual National Small Print Show (NSPS) is a unique, juried art show of matted hand-pulled prints. Artists from all 50 states and Canada are invited to submit up to three original prints to exhibit and sell. To view all of last year’s entries, visit creedeartscouncil.com/national-small-print-show.

Prints are exhibited at the Creede Repertory Theatre from May 23-June 23.

The judge for the 25th edition of the National Small Print Show will be Randall LaGro, a San Luis Valley artist.

The Creede Repertory Theatre (CRT) will roll out the red carpet for the 2026 season with "Fully Committed," which follows an aspiring actor through his dizzying and chaotic work day at one of New York's busiest and most exclusive restaurants.  Peruse this year's National Small Prints Show exhibition, where artists from all across America and Canada compete in a juried show with matted, hand-pulled prints.

Saturday will also feature the annual Silver Chef competition, where local chefs vie for bragging rights. Head over to the infamous blue and white stripped tent and watch as chefs from around the area use secret ingredients to create delicious masterpieces for local judges.

On Sunday, Main Street will be packed with artists competing in the annual Quick Draw event. Artists begin with a blank canvas and have one hour to complete their one-of-a-kind works. Afterward, these pieces are offered in the annual art auction, hosted by the Creede Hotel & Restaurant. Artists are readily available to offer their expertise to other interested art lovers.
