Gaspar O. Lopez was born in Los Pinos, New Mexico, on March 4, 1931, and passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026.
He is survived by his children: Gaspar (Pauline) Lopez, Leonard (Sally) Lopez, Theresa Quintana, Luella Lopez, Judy (Frank) Aragon, and Cathy (Charles) Lopez. Siblings: Hermosa Martinez, Erlinda Oleson, Julia Rendon, and James (Carla) Lopez. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, over 29 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia S. Lopez; his parents, Victor and Talpita Lopez; his daughter, Bernadette Lopez; his sister, Adelia Salas; his brothers, Felix Guillermo (Willie) Lopez, and Polito Lopez.
Cremation was chosen.
A funeral Mass for Gaspar O. Lopez will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Alamosa, CO, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
