MONTE VISTA - Alabama duo Muscadine Bloodline will be the headliner of the Ski-Hi Stampede’s opening concert on July 10 in Monte Vista. Special guest Aaron Watson will be opening for the rising country duo. The Stampede, Colorado’s oldest rodeo, runs from July 10-13 at the Ski-Hi Complex.

A decade into making music, Muscadine Bloodline continues to reach new audiences.

Muscadine Bloodline members Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton were nominated for Duo of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May. The duo earned a standing ovation at their 2018 Grand Ole Opry debut.

Last year, the band played stadiums as main support on Post Malone’s tour for his country album “F-1 Trillion.” This fall, they will be part of Lainey Wilson’s anticipated Whirlwind tour.

Earlier this year, Muscadine Bloodline released “And What Was Left Behind,” a new LP that chronicles the sights and sounds of the group’s Southern roots. Like tall tales told around a campfire or a night of barstool banter, the album weaves together a collection of three-minute stories inspired by the people and places the band knows best.

Designed as a companion to “The Coastal Plain,” the album was released on Stancaster Music and distributed through Thirty Tigers. Stanton and Muncaster worked on the project with longtime collaborator Ryan Youmans.

According to their bio, Muscadine Bloodline has delivered a soulful and potent form of country music indelibly colored by their Alabama heritage. But in the making of their latest body of work, the Mobile-bred duo dug deeper into their roots than ever before, dreaming up a batch of songs inspired by the places they know best: the blue-collar melting pot of their coastal hometown, bustling Cajun fishing villages and desolate timberlands, the untamed and idyllic spaces where they ran wild as children.

Porch Swing Angel” and “Pieces (featuring Lainey Wilson)” have each amassed over 100 million streams on Spotify. Both tracks have been certified at least gold by the RIAA, with “Porch Swing Angel” earning platinum status. Additionally, “Me On You” was certified gold in September, 2024.

Watson, another independent performer, will set the mood for the evening on July 10. He is the first independent male country artist ever to debut an album at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart, a feat recognized in the Country Music Hall of Fame. He has earned a litany of prestigious awards, hundreds of millions of streams on his music, shared the stage with country music legends Willie Nelson and Alan Jackson, and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for multiple charities.

The concert is being presented by Plant Nutrient Solutions and Summit Gold. It begins at 7:30 p.m.
