ALAMOSA — Sandra Hostetter, Alamosa County Assessor, is retiring at the end of 2024. She has served as the Alamosa County Assessor since 2003. Prior to being elected, she worked as an appraiser in the office. In all, Hostetter has served the citizens of Alamosa County for 32 years.

ALAMOSA — Sandra Hostetter, Alamosa County Assessor, is retiring at the end of 2024. She has served as the Alamosa County Assessor since 2003. Prior to being elected, she worked as an appraiser in the office. In all, Hostetter has served the citizens of Alamosa County for 32 years.
Hostetter began her career in 1992 under the leadership of Doris Orcutt. Beginning In 2002, she successfully ran for office 6 times.
During her tenure, Alamosa County has seen substantial growth and change. She praises the work of her office and the dedicated staff. Her Deputy, Janice DeHerrera, has been at her side the entire time she held office.
When asked about her retirement, smiling, she said she is looking forward to spending more time with her children and grandchildren. “I’ve met so many wonderful people through this job. I feel blessed to have had this opportunity. I will always hold Alamosa County, and its citizens close to my heart.”
