CREEDE – It’s time to mark the calendar and make plans for the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving and head on up to Creede for the annual Chocolate Festival and Holiday Market.
Residents, business owners and the City of Creede have all partnered to bring the holiday spirit to the forefront and to celebrate the season with giving. Starting on Friday, Nov. 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. businesses along the historic Main Street in downtown Creede will be offering delectable treats to all who venture that way with the annual Creede Chocolate Festival.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Creede and Mineral County Chamber of Commerce the day of the event or by going to www.creede.com. This wonderful event helps bring a touch of sweet delight to the stressful Black Friday shopping sprees. This is a great chance to avoid the crowds while supporting local businesses this holiday season.
Participants in the Chocolate Festival make every effort to impress and create unique and delicious chocolaty treats while vying for bragging rights for the coming year. Those who participate in the contest must abide by a few simple rules. All entries must contain chocolate and cannot be commercially made or prepared from a box.
People walk along Main Street going from business to business tasting these delectable treats while enjoying live music, vendors and so much more. Mr. and Mrs. Claus have also been seen wandering among the holiday crowds and may be joined by carolers around roaring bonfires. It is the perfect holiday setting made to bring out the holiday joy for all who attend.
If guests can’t make it on Friday, Nov. 29, they can venture to Creede and enjoy the same holiday fun on Saturday, Nov. 30, also from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday will also feature the Parade of Lights beginning at 5 p.m. as well as a tree lighting celebration in Basham Park.
