CREEDE – During the end of month meeting for the Mineral County Commissioners, Mineral County Sheriff Terry Wetherill gave an update on a recent graffiti incident at the Masonic Lodge on Saturday night, March 21.
“This is not something we want to ignore. The only place we have had graffiti since 2016 is down on the train bridge, but it has been painted over. This will probably go unsolved. We are looking into some other possible tips and looking at cameras from the time of the incident.”
Wetherill continued his report stating that the City of Creede has recently installed additional cameras and has granted access to the sheriff's office.
Outside of the graffiti incident, Wetherill and his team are preparing for a busy summer in the area and would like to remind everyone to abide by rules and regulations, especially as more people come to town.
“This is just a reminder that we may have some unsavory people in town and for everyone to keep an eye on their neighbors. If you see something, say something,” and call 719-658-2600 or come into the office.
