Douglas Allison Jones, 72, passed away on May 6, 2025, at CommonSpirit St. Francis in Colorado Springs, Colo. Doug was born on June 16, 1952, in Independence, Mo.
Doug is survived by his wife, Brenda, of 45 years; his two sons, Scott (Shelby) and Brandon (Alison); his sister, Holly; his grandchildren, Allison, Marcus, and Maxwell; and his faithful dog, Fritz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lee and Vann Jones.
A true jack-of-all-trades, Doug lived many lives in one, serving as a nurse, pilot, teacher, forest firefighter, and poison control specialist. He approached every role with a deep sense of service to others.
Known for his adventurous spirit and love of outdoors, Doug found joy in camping, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, fishing, and of course, flying.
Incredibly smart, endlessly loving, Doug had a gift for brightening the lives of everyone he met.
A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the South Fork, 116 Landon Dr., South Fork, on May 18 at 2 p.m.
