Charlotte June Sheely slipped the surly bonds of earth and touched the face of God on Feb. 12, 2025. 

Born on June 4, 1928 in Monte Vista, Colo., to Wesley and Amy (Bledsoe) Stephens, she lived her entire 96 years of life in the San Luis Valley – Monte Vista, Alamosa and Fort Garland. 

She loved gardening, dancing, singing, playing the piano and organ, traveling fishing, playing cards with the "girls", sewing, knitting, crocheting. embroidery, and so much more. 

In her 60's, she discovered she had the talent and ability to paint beautiful pictures, and hand painted her Christmas cards every year. Above all, she loved her family.  

She was preceded in passing by her parents, her husband of 36 years, Rocky Sheely, her dancing/traveling partner of 34 years, Jack Boutwell, her sisters Evelyn Boydstun, Jeannette Short, and Meg Dutton and her brother Dick Stephens. 

She is survived by her son, Don Sheely and her daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Smith and Kathy (Mark) Adams, her grandchildren Scott Sheely, Aimee Sisneros, Ken (Tabitha) Sheely, Jared (Liz) Smith, and Mindy (Andy) Kamenski, great-grandchildren Chance Sisneros, Becca Sisneros, Chetan Sheely, Maddie Smith, Ryland Towner, Kenzie Smith and Emmie Kamenski, her brother John (Karolyn) Stephens and many nieces and nephews. 

Services will be announced at a later date. Please make memorial contributions to Hospice Del Valle.
