ALAMOSA – Downtown Alamosa is ready to light up with holiday cheer as the annual First Fridays Shine Bright and Shop Small event kicks off the season in style. The festive evening begins at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. with the magical Celebration of Lights Ceremony, featuring live music by Matt Wellman, sweet treats, and a countdown to the official lighting ceremony.

Following the ceremony, the community is invited to join a lively procession through downtown, led by the Alamosa High School Drumline and Color guard and the Ortega Middle School Choir. The drumline will bring energy and flair, while the choir will lead caroling at stops along Main Street.

  • Holiday Walking Tour and Caroling Stops

The procession will visit several downtown businesses, spreading festive cheer with music and caroling:

Wild Roses (511 Main St.)

Milagros Coffee House (529 Main St.)

Spare Keg Brewerks (625 Main St.) – An all-ages venue hosting two artist pop-ups.

Woody’s Q Shack (703 Main St.)

Big Valley HobbyTown (709 Main St.) – Conclude the tour here with a visit from Santa Claus.

  • Holiday Market at Milagros Coffee House

Local artistry takes center stage at the second annual Holiday Market, hosted at Milagros Coffee House. Shoppers can discover unique, handmade gifts from 16 talented local makers, making it the perfect opportunity to support small businesses and artists.

  • Tree Decorating Contest

Adding to the holiday magic, downtown Alamosa businesses and community organizations have decorated 21 stunning Christmas trees, which will be on display throughout December. Event attendees can begin voting for their favorite tree during the First Fridays event.

  • Evening Entertainment and Specials

Enjoy additional festivities, including live music by Corey and the Contradictions at Friar’s Fork and exclusive First Fridays deals and pop-ups at participating businesses.
