Mineral County 4-H Club participates in Wolf Creek Ski Area School Program

MINERAL COUNTY — The Mineral County 4-H Club participated in Wolf Creek Ski Area’s School Program. This program offered all children enrolled in the 4-H Club a ski lift ticket, equipment rental and a skiing or snowboarding lesson — $20 for skiers or $40 for snowboarders. This program allows children the opportunity to see what skiing and snowboarding are about.

The Mineral County 4-H Club provided $20 for each child to participate. So, children skiing attended for free and children snowboarding attended for $20.

The club traveled to Wolf Creek from Creede on April 8.

Attendees ranged from kids who had never skied before to those who took advantage of advanced lessons to improve their skills in skiing and snowboarding.

Fourth-grader JT Cook said, "I've skied before but today I learned how to ski faster and to ski backwards. My instructor was the best."

Regardless of skill level, everyone had the opportunity to improve, and enjoy the experience during the 6 hours of beautiful weather and excellent conditions at Wolf Creek.
