ALAMOSA – The Third Annual Alamosa Veterans Memorial 5K and 10K runs took place on Saturday near the Alamosa Recreation Center on Old Sanford Road.
The winner of the 5K race was Matthew Samora in a time of 19:24:00. Other top finishers included Brant Edelen, John Naranjo and Dimitrius Romero.
Shae Romero had the best women’s 5K in 22:58:00. Also among the top finishers were Rose Edelen, Fran Edelen and Melanie Valdez.
In the kids race for children 12 and younger, Greyson Romero was the winner in 22:47:00. Other top finishers included Kinley Wubben and Brady Valdez.
In the 10K race, Jonathan Gears had the best time of 39:26:00. Also finishing high were Cody Williams and Gilbert Martinez.
The top women’s time in the 10K was recorded by Miriam Romero in 45:50. Other top finishers included Judith Zavala, Angela Daugherty and Stacy Davis.
