ALAMOSA — The Southern Colorado Science Center (SCSC), in collaboration with the Artisans of Florence, are excited to announce that the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America is in the final stages of approval to establish its first permanent location in Pueblo, Colorado. This groundbreaking museum will showcase interactive exhibits, life-sized machine replicas, and educational programs dedicated to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci.

Pueblo elected officials, community leaders and representatives from the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America will present to the Colorado Economic Development Commission (EDC) in a final step to secure state approval for Pueblo as the official location of the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America. The proposed museum will occupy a building originally constructed under Colorado’s Regional Tourism Act, which was previously home to the Bull Riders University.

The original concept to create an exhibition of ‘interactive machines’ based on Leonardo’s notebooks was conceived by the Niccolai Firm in the early 1990s.

Over the past couple of years, an expanded Niccolai, Teknoart, Artisans of Florence Group has been able to uncover further missing (perhaps hidden?) details, making the machines even more realistic, creating a truly unique exhibition – one that is more relevant in today’s society.

This project represents a unique opportunity for Pueblo to join an elite group of global locations, including Italy, South Korea, Australia, France, and Brazil, that host the prestigious Da Vinci Museum. Approval will make Pueblo the sole North American location for this world-renowned museum, showcasing the genius of Leonardo da Vinci’s art, inventions, and visionary works.

This presentation marks the final step for Pueblo to gain approval from the Colorado Economic Development Commission to house the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America.

The museum’s exhibits are celebrated worldwide for their immersive exploration of Leonardo Da Vinci’s legacy, blending art, science, and innovation. Currently, the museum has only been established in a select few prestigious locations globally. If approved, Pueblo will proudly stand alongside these international hubs for innovation.
