MONTE VISTA – San Luis Valley Publishing LLC will stop publishing the weekly Conejos County Citizen newspaper immediately. The July 31, 2024, issue will be last one printed and mailed to subscribers.
San Luis Valley Publishing prints five other subscriber-based weekly newspapers in the San Luis Valley — Monte Vista Journal, Center Post-Dispatch, Del Norte Prospector, South Fork Tines, and Mineral County Miner – and San Luis Valley Lifestyles, a free weekly that is mailed to more than 16,000 homes.
“Declining revenue from print advertising and increased costs to print the paper are the reasons for ceasing printing of the CCC,” said Publisher Keith R. Cerny. The paper was being mailed to about 150 subscribers weekly.
