Alamosa's Rothermich is first team in Class 3A

ALAMOSA – The Colorado High School Activities Association released its All-State volleyball teams on Monday with 12 athletes from the San Luis Valley being recognized.

The All-State teams are posted on the CHSAANow.com web site.

In Class 3A, three Alamosa athletes and one from Centauri were mentioned.

Leading the way for the Lady Mean Moose was junior middle blocker Aubrey Rothermich who was placed on the first team. Rothermich led Alamosa in kills with 301 which is an average of 3.5 per set, and she also led in blocks with 47, and in service aces with 66. She also had 113 digs, and 33 assists.

Senior setter Morgan Ortega was a second team selection. She led the team in assists with 725 for an average of 8.5 per set. She also had 160 kills, 28 blocks, 247 digs, and 50 aces.

Senior hitter Taybor Wiedeman was an honorable mention selection. She recorded 177 kills, 21 blocks, 269 digs, 28 aces, and 42 assists.

Centauri had one All-State player in senior Hannah Curtis who was a second team selection. She led the Lady Falcons in digs with 147, and she also had 21 kills, 11 aces, two blocks, and 13 assists.

In Class 2A, both Del Norte and Sanford had two All-State players apiece.

For the Lady Tigers, freshman outside hitter/setter Brynley Brown, and senior outside hitter Reece Brown were both honorable mention selections.

Reese Brown led Del Norte in kills with 279 and in service aces with 52. She also had 303 digs, 17 blocks, and nine assists.

Brynley Brown was second on the team in kills with 227. She also recorded 253 digs, 14 blocks, 38 aces, and 16 assists.

For the Lady Mustangs, hitter Shasta Bond, and senior setter/libero Brooklynn Reynolds were both honorable mention.

Bond had 141 kills, 115 digs, 20 blocks, 35 aces, and 10 assists.

Reynolds led the team in assists with 509. She also had 22 kills, 148 digs, two blocks, and 36 aces.

In Class 1A, Sargent had two selections, and Sangre de Cristo and Sierra Grande both had one. All of them were honorable mention.

Sophomore hitter/setter Kandace Pargin led the Lady Farmers in kills with 344 for an average of 4.3 per set, and also in blocks with 96, and service aces with 62. She also had 248 assists and 236 digs.

Junior setter/hitter Reese Anderson led in assists with 490, and she also had 156 kills, 227 digs, 71 blocks, 56 blocks

For the Lady Thunderbirds, senior Hallie Henry led the team in digs with 545 for an average of 8.5 per set. She also had 16 kills, 12 aces, and six assists.

Representing the Lady Panthers is freshman hitter Eneria Quintana who had 175 kills, 299 digs, 12 blocks, 49 aces, and 14 assists.
