CREEDE — The Creede Headwaters Music Festival was a hit in the summer of 2022 with a lineup that many thought could not be matched. Creede Headwaters Music Festival member Bob Holt has released the lineup for this year, and it looks to be as good, if not better. This year’s music festival will take place on the weekend of Aug. 26 and 27.

CREEDE — The Creede School District Board of Education received a finance report during its meeting on March 27 and learned it will need to address its teaching salary schedule.

MINERAL COUNTY — Mineral County Sheriff Terry Wetherill gave a brief update to commissioners during their mid-month meeting on Wednesday, March 15. Wetherill began by stating that the department is putting the final toucheson updating their policy manual, saying that it was a worthwhile investment.

CREEDE — In a meeting with the Creede wrestling representatives and athletic department leaders, the Creede School District Board of Education approved adding wrestling to its athletic teams.

CREEDE — The Creede School District is in for a fun and busy week as they set the stage and celebrate a Homecoming. Since the district does not have a football team, school officials decided to host the annual event during basketball season.

CREEDE — The Creede Arts Council announced that the call for entry for the 2023 Willow Creek Journal is officially open. The Willow Creek Journal is a community-centered annual anthology.

SAN LUIS VALLEY — As part of an effort to complete a Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan per requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) guidelines, local officials have released another draft of the document for review by San Luis Valley leaders in the six counties included in the region.

CREEDE — The Creede Community Christmas Celebration will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 14 at the Creede Community Church on Main Street in Creede.
