Scott to perform at Creede Hotel

CREEDE — Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Darrell Scott will perform live at the Creede Hotel on Sunday, Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the hotel or can be purchased at the hotel’s Facebook page and web site, www.the creedehotel.com, or at www.darrellscott.com/tour.

Scott’s latest album, “Jaroso,” was recorded in the small church in Jaroso near the New Mexico border south of San Luis and features Americana songs by Scott on guitar and other stringed instruments.

Local musician Mark Dudrow arranged for the recording in the adobe church with no PA system and a small room of attendees arriving only by word of mouth.

According to Scott’s media kit, he comes from a musical family with a father who “had him smitten with guitars by the age of 4, alongside a brother who played Jerry Reed style as well.”

After touring with Robert Plant and the Zac Brown Band, two years with each, he produced albums for Malcolm Holcomb and Guy Clark. He was named “songwriter of the year” by both ASCAP and NSAI.

He often leads songwriting workshops to help people tell their own truths with their stories, and is as busy as always writing, producing, performing and just plan fully immersing himself in life.
