Preliminary election results released

CREEDE—According to results submitted by Mineral County Clerk and Recorder Eryn Wintz just after 8 p.m. on Nov. 6, there were a total of 626 ballots out of 748 submitted for the 2018 mid-term elections. Wintz has prided herself on keeping the percentage of ballots turned in one of the highest in the state and this year came close to a perfect score with 84 percent of the ballots returned.
The preliminary election results are as follows: Commissioner Scott Lamb was re-elected for his third term in office running unopposed with 474 votes. Wintz was re-elected and was also unopposed with 526 votes. In the race for Mineral County Treasurer, Michael Averette was defeated by Patti Payne in a 215 to 403 vote.
Mineral County Assessor Libby Lamb was re-elected to her office with 440 votes. Fred Hosselkus ran unopposed for Mineral County sheriff with 457 votes of confidence. Jimmy Adelman ran unopposed for Mineral County coroner winning with 466 votes.
