Creede shows support for undersheriff Fairchild

CREEDE- Oct. 1 was the date that Undersheriff Bill Fairchild was set to retire from Mineral County Sheriff’s Office after 31 years of service. Bill’s quick wit and dedication to his community are something that this office will miss greatly.
Unfortunately, before he could enjoy his retirement date of Sept. 30, undersheriff Bill Fairchild was flown to Park View Hospital in Pueblo with a severe staph infection. He remains in the hospital and is very much fighting for his life. Donations are greatly appreciated by the family and can be made via deposit to the Bill Fairchild Fund at Del Norte Bank.
Fairchild was originally planning to extend his service to the community as a safety officer for the Creede School District but in light of recent events he will be going into full retirement. Fairchild has served the Creede community and Mineral County for 31 years.
