3rd Annual South Fork Yuletide Extravaganza

Join in on the fun for South Fork's first annual Parade of Lights and third annual Yuletide celebrations Nov. 29.

SOUTH FORK - Thanksgiving is right around the corner so mark your calendars because you will not want to miss the 3rd Annual South Fork Yuletide Extravaganza, sponsored and organized by the Friends of South Fork Friday, Nov. 29, following Thanksgiving Day. After your Black Friday shopping spree and perhaps a visit to the Creede Chocolate Festival, plan on winding down the evening by attending this spectacular lighting event beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the South Fork Visitor Center.
This year promises even more excitement with the addition of a “Parade of Lights” celebration – get your holiday bling on. All are encouraged to take part in the festivities by decorating a vehicle – be it your favorite SUV, jeep, truck, bus, ATV, golf cart, Humvee, bicycle, trailer, motorcycle, razor, RV or any other mode of transport – with your favorite holiday lights and bling!  If you are interested in participating, call the South Fork Visitor Center at 719-873-5512 to register and then plan to meet at the South Fork Community Center at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29.
Parade participants will make their way to the Visitor Center where they will park their bling mobiles and enjoy showcasing them throughout the evening. As in years past, there will be a bonfire on-site to add to the spirit of the season as everyone awaits Santa’s arrival and the countdown to light up the town.
Another new feature of this year’s celebration is a large tent with heaters which will be set up at the Visitor Center parking lot. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. delicious homemade chili, sopapillas, hot chocolate and other goodies will be served. There will be a limited number of chairs and tables inside the tent to help you stay warm and cozy as you enjoy your meal.
Finally, be sure to check out the other amazing Christmas tree displays near South Fork’s historic water tower along Highway 160.
The South Fork Yuletide Extravaganza is a great way to kick off the 2019 Christmas holiday season and unite to give thanks for the beautiful community in which we live. If you are in town, you will surely want to take part in this year’s celebration.
